Summer hits full stride in Windsor, and the Town Green is the place to be. From the boom of fireworks on the Third of July to free Thursday-night concerts under the trees, tacos and lowriders rolling down Market Street, and the farmers market celebrating a big birthday, there is something happening nearly every week.

Windsor Kaboom! Fireworks Show
Sonoma County’s biggest Independence Day party, hosted by the Town of Windsor and the Active 20-30 Club. Live music, food, and a Kid’s Zone all afternoon, capped by a huge fireworks show over the park. Bring blankets, low chairs, and a cooler (under 60 qt); leave glass, pets, drones, and your own fireworks at home. The SMART train runs a special late-night service to beat the parking crunch.

The Windsor Certified Farmers Market turns 25, and they are throwing a party. Expect birthday cake, live tunes from the Windsor Jazz Ensemble, and tables piled high with Sonoma County produce, baked goods, flowers, fish, and farm-fresh everything. Grab brunch and settle in at the big redwood picnic tables.

A sweet afternoon of ice cream and good company for Windsor’s older adults. Space is limited and you will need to sign up in advance, so call or stop by the Senior Recreation Center to save your spot.

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch (PG) lights up the Green’s new LED screen, presented by People 4 Parks Windsor. Bring a blanket or low-back chair (no blankets on the lawn before 4:30 pm) and pick up dinner from a downtown spot. Part of Windsor’s free Tuesday-night summer movie series, which continues on Tuesdays through the month.

The 24th season of Summer Nights rolls into July with the high-energy Ryan Woodard Band, blending rock, pop, and blues. Shop the Thursday farmers market, grab al fresco street food along Market Street, and settle in for free live music with family lawn games. Low-back chairs up front, please.

One of Windsor’s most beloved traditions. Sample tacos from top Sonoma County chefs competing for “crowd favorite,” plus elote, churros, paletas, and a margarita, beer, and wine garden (21+). Cruise Market Street to vote on 100-plus lowriders and classic cars, browse the makers market, and dance to live ranchera music and DJs. Proceeds support Windsor’s Día de los Muertos festival.

A summer classic under the stars. E.T. takes over the Green’s big screen for another free family movie night. Same easy routine: blankets or low chairs after 4:30 pm, snacks from downtown, and a feel-good film the whole crew will love.

Northern California’s premier Allman Brothers tribute brings dual harmony guitars, double drums, and Hammond organ to the Green. Pair it with the Thursday farmers market and the street-food row for a full summer evening out.

A Bay Area favorite, Sacred Fire delivers the fiery guitar, horns, and percussion of a Santana tribute, from “Black Magic Woman” to “Smooth.” Bring your dancing shoes and a low chair and join the crowd on the lawn.

Windsor Certified Farmers Market
The heart of the Green all season. Sunday mornings (9:00 am–12:30 pm) bring produce, brunch, BBQ, and live music; Thursday nights (5:00–8:00 pm, June through August) pair the market with the Summer Nights concerts and international street food. Note: no Thursday market on July 2.

Foothill Regional Park
A 211-acre wilderness park in the east-Windsor foothills with about 6.8 miles of trails, from the easy, wheelchair-accessible Three Lakes Trail to the climb up Alta Vista, plus three ponds for fishing and ridge-top views over the county. Open daily 7:00 am to sunset; dogs on leash.
